S'mores and stuff || Lyrik
dancingtothelyrik:
Boredom was beginning to get old for Lyrik; she wasn’t about to spend eternity in her apartment with nothing to do. Maybe she needed to go out with Charlie a little, or go find a hobby. Something instead of dancing and watching TV, which were basically the only things she did anymore. Whenever Mr. West, or Shane as he apparently was outside of school, got a hold of her and apologized for standing her up, she’d been amused. He didn’t seem so bad, maybe just a little bored and lonely like herself. So at his offer of s’mores, she simply couldn’t resist. She could be quite a child at times. And s’mores were just…well, she wasn’t about to pass up s’mores.
She’d just gotten out of the shower when she got his text as to where he lived, so she quickly got dressed in jeans and a band tee before shoving her feet into sneakers and her hair into an unruly ponytail. Cursing her unmanageable curls, she settled for leaving it down before grabbing her phone and speeding her way over to his place. Lyrik didn’t much care what she looked like, he was a teacher for Christs sake. Knocking briskly, she raised an eyebrow when she saw how utterly flustered he looked. “Hello to you too,” She replied jokingly, walking inside to see half a machine and three pages of directions. Laughing under her breath, she picked up one sheet and rolled her eyes. “Unless you speak mandarin, you won’t need these,” Lyrik tossed those aside and picked up the ones in english, settling on the floor indian style while studying the box.
Shane tired his best to hide his frustration with the machine as Lyrik entered the apartment. The only students he was used to having over were Senna and Alex, but Shane was growing fond of the girls he taught in class, as obscene sounding as it was. He enjoyed Lyrik’s presence and had a good feeling about putting together the machine with her. Picking up the insturctions he carefully tossed the to the side. “So then let’s put this bad boy together.” Smiling at the girl, he kenlt on the ground in front of the table to get a better look at it.
“So I’m glad you decided to come tonight. It was getting a little lonely staying here alone all the time. YOu’d be surprised at the days that pass when you’re grading papers.” As he began to piece pieces together, he smiled occasionally stealing glances at the girl. “Hopefully you understand this thing more than I do because it’s stumping me.”
